Brad Garrett was born on April 14th, 1960 and raised in Woodland Hills, California. After graduating from high school, Garrett began performing his stand-up act at comedy clubs across Los Angeles and was the first winner of Star Search in 1984. Garrett was only 23 years old when he made his first appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson,” making him one of the youngest comedians ever to perform on the program.  As Garrett’s career took off he began headlining at national venues as well as opening for legends including Frank Sinatra, Diana Ross, Julio Iglesias, Liza Minnelli and Sammy Davis Jr. In 1989, The Las Vegas Review Journal named Garrett the “Best Comedian” working on the Strip.

Brad Garrett made his foray into the world of television with roles on shows including “Rosanne,” “Mad About You” and “Seinfeld,” though he is best known for his role as Ray Romano’s big brother, Robert, on the hit CBS series “Everybody Loves Raymond.” In 2002, 2003 and 2005 he garnered Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Also in 2002, Garrett played Jackie Gleason in the critically acclaimed telefilm “Gleason,” for which he earned an Emmy Award nomination and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Movie or Miniseries.

Several of Garrett’s film credits include ‘The Pacifier’, ‘Music and Lyrics’, ‘Suicide Kings’ and Woody Allen’s ‘Sweet and Lowdown’. He also starred on Broadway in Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple.  Most recently, Brad had the honor of working with writer and director David Chase on his upcoming feature, in which Brad portrayed legendary music producer, Jerry Ragovoy.

Garrett has lent his voice to a multitude of characters including ‘Bloat’ in Finding Nemo, ‘Fatso’ in Casper, ‘Dim’ in A Bug’s Life, and ‘Gusteau’ in Ratatouille.  He can also be heard in ‘Night at the Museum’ and as ‘Hookhand’ in Disney’s ‘Tangled’. Brad has just completed voicing the role of ‘Chug’ in Planes for Pixar/Disney.

In 2010, Brad Garrett’s longtime dream of owning his own comedy club became a reality with the opening of Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club in Las Vegas, NV. In October of 2011, Garrett proudly announced that he will be bringing his brand of top-quality comedy and customer service to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.  Being one of the first standup comedians to work at the property when it opened in 1993, and after many years of headlining at the MGM sister property Mirage, Garrett is thrilled to once again be a part of the MGM family. He hopes the club will continue to provide both legendary comedians and the next generation of comics with a place to call “home” in Las Vegas. Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club will open April Fool’s Day weekend at the MGM Grand, with a special Grand Opening Event on March 29th, 2012.
