You can enjoy these great country musicians on the upcoming cable TV comedy special, “The Henry Cho Show” Thursday, September 8, 2011 on Great American Country (GAC) at 8:00 p.m. The show also plays Sept. 9 at midnight, 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. It airs September 10th at 3:00 p.m.
Standup comedians Henry Cho and Karen Mills invited us to the live recording of the comedy-variety show in Nashville, Tennessee about a month ago. Henry told us the show will feature these country music greats as the musical entertainers of his family-friendly comedy and country music TV special.
Vince Gill is famous for being the front man in the country-rock band Pure Prairie League in the 1970s, and as a solo artist beginning in 1983, where his talents as a country music singer and musician have placed him in high demand as a guest vocalist, and a duet partner. Gill has recorded more than twenty studio albums, charted over forty singles on the U.S. Billboard charts as Hot Country Songs, and has sold more than 22 million albums. He has been honored by the Country Music Association with 18 CMA Awards, including two Entertainer of the Year awards and five Male Vocalist Awards. Gill has also earned 20 Grammy Awards, more than any other male country music artist. In 2007, Gill was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Vince Gill’s hits include: “Liza Jane,” “True Love,” “Oklahoma Swing,” “Turn Me Loose,” “Oklahoma Borderline,” “Pocket Full of Gold,” “Everybody’s Sweetheart,” “Victim of Life’s Circumstances,” “I Never Knew Lonely” and “Don’t Let Our Love Start Slippin’ Away.”
“Threaten Me With Heaven” is the lead track from his new CD, “Guitar Slinger“, due out October 25. Vince co-wrote the song with his wife Amy Grant and said, “I feel like it’s the crown jewel of the new record.”

Piano player and country music singer, Phil Vassar made his debut on the country music scene in the late 1990s, co-writing singles for several country artists, including Tim McGraw (“For a Little While”, “My Next Thirty Years”), Jo Dee Messina (“Bye, Bye”, “I’m Alright”), Collin Raye (“Little Red Rodeo”), and Alan Jackson (“Right on the Money”). In 1999, he was named by American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) as Country Songwriter of the Year.
His debut album, “Phil Vassar“, was released in early 2000 and it produced five hit singles on the U.S. Billboard country singles charts and was certified gold in the United States. He followed it in 2002 with “American Child”, then “Shaken Not Stirred” in 2004, and finally “Greatest Hits, Vol. 1” in 2006. “Prayer of a Common Man”, was released in early 2008. He has charted nineteen singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including two Number Ones: 2000’s “Just Another Day in Paradise” and 2004’s “In a Real Love”.

In 2006, Atkins again made it into the charts when he released “If You’re Going Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows)” as the first single from his sophomore album “If You’re Going Through Hell”. The song became his first No. 1 hit, as well as the No. 1 song of the year, and Rodney was officially on his way. In 2007, he released the second single, “Watching You,” which he wrote about his young son Elijah. It also went straight to No. 1, and became the No. 1 song from 2007. Atkins released a total of five singles from “If You’re Going Through Hell”. The next two — “These Are My People” and “Cleaning This Gun (Come On In Boy)” also reached number 1. The album went on to sell over one million copies, earning Atkins his first platinum album. Rodney debuted his first single from his third album (“It’s America“) on the CMA Awards show in November 2008. It’s America was released on March 31, 2009. “Farmer’s Daughter” was released April 20, 2010 and the single “Take a Back Road“, from the CD of the same name, came out January 1, 2011. Rodney Atkins has announced a release date for his upcoming fourth album, ‘Take a Back Road,’ which will be available October 4.
‘Take a Back Road‘ is the fastest rising song of his career, currently sitting comfortably in the Top 10 of country radio, and is on track to go gold in the next month, with sales already in excess of 350,000.
