Bruno Mars says he feels honored that the NFL is letting him perform at the Super Bowl halftime show even though he’s still a relatively new pop and rock music singer.
Bruno Mars will take the field Sunday when the Seattle Seahawks play the Denver Broncos at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. In 2010, the pop singer debuted on the mainstream music scene when he released his pop music CD, “Doo-Wops & Hooligans,” which featured the No. 1 hits “Grenade” and the Grammy Award winning song “Just the Way You Are.”
At 28, Mars is one of the youngest singers to perform during the halftime show, but he says, “I ain’t scared!”
Bruno Mars was Billboard’s top artist of 2013, and his latest album, “Unorthodox Jukebox,” won the best pop vocal album Grammy Award in 2014. Mars has connected with fans of all ages, his R&B -pop music sound is played on radios around the world, and his live shows have received rave reviews.
A prolific songwriter, Bruno has written and produced songs for other top singers including Alicia Keys, Justin Beiber, and CeeLo Green. Mars also co-wrote, produced, and sang on hit singles like Travie McCoy’s “Billionaire” and B.o.B’s “Nothin’ On You”.
Bruno Mars has five number one singles and 22 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 including “Locked Out of Heaven” and “When I Was Your Man”. Bruno’s albums, “Unorthodox Jukebox” and “Doo-Wops & Hooligans” have a combined certification total of 60x platinum worldwide!
This summer, Bruno Mars and his eight-piece band, The Hooligans, are set to begin the second phase of their sold-out Moonshine Jungle world tour in North America. At the Super Bowl, Mars will be joined by the Red Hot Chili Peppers — “They’re a soulful band, not just musically, but as people,” said Bruno.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of the most successful rock and roll bands in history. The Red Hot Chili Peppers (RHCP) are: Anthony Kiedis, lead singer, bassist Flea, drummer, Chad Smith, and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer and they have sold more than 60 million albums, including five multi-platinum LPs!
The Red Hot Chili Peppers have also won six Grammy Awards including Best Rock Album for “Stadium Arcadium”, Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group for “Dani California”, Best Rock Song for “Scar Tissue”, and Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal for “Give It Away.”
RHCP was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2012. The Red Hot Chili Peppers latest studio album, “I’m With You”, was released by Warner Brothers Records in August 2011.
Sounds like this is going to be a super-entertaining halftime show at Super Bowl 48. Will Bruno Mars and The Red Hot Chili Peppers sing a song together? The weather forecast is chilly… will Bruno wear a hat? Will the Chili Peppers wear more than socks? Will Anthony and Flea perform shirtless as they often do?

Thought Bruno Mars was very cute. He put on a great show and I heard quite a few people were watching. No scandals, just a super show. I like that. Wish the Red Hot Chili Peppers had performed more songs, but they were good too. the super bowl half time show was better than the game!

Saw this on the internet and just thought I’d pass it on:
The Seattle Seahawks’ dominant performance in Super Bowl XLVIII, defeating the Denver Broncos 43-8, the largest margin of victory in a Super Bowl in 21 years, was watched by an average audience of 111.5 million people, more than any television program in U.S. history, surpassing the previous mark of 111.3 million set by a much more closely contested Super Bowl XLVI (New York Giants-New England Patriots) on NBC. The game is also now the most-watched program ever on FOX, breaking the 111.0 million viewer mark the network set for Super Bowl XLV (Green Bay Packers-Pittsburgh Steelers). Three of the last four Super Bowls set average viewership records.
