Emi Sunshine is a musical prodigy, the lead singer of the band, and the ukelele and banjolele player. Her band consists of her dad, Randall on bass, her older brother John on mandolin, and her uncle Bobby on drums. The band plays a unique blend of Americana, Folk and Gospel music and they have written scores of popular songs. Emi Sunshine and The Rain released their second studio CD, “Black Sunday ’35” earlier this year and are working on their next album.

Emi Sunshine just turned ten, so we hope you had a wonderful happy birthday Emi! We’d also like to congratulate Emi and The Rain for their live performance at the Ryman Auditorium with Marty Stuart.
Emi and her mother write most of the songs for the group. Her father Randall also sings, graduated from MTSU with a degree in recording engineering, and currently does sound for several East Tennessee venues. He owns and operates Hamilton Sound & Recording too. As a senior in high school, John won a Grammy as a member of the Hiwassee Dam Steel Pan Band. He’s a multi-instrumentalist and a true artist himself, who relishes being the big brother. Uncle Bobby Hill on drums and percussion rounds out the group.

Love Love Love!!! this lil lady! She is playing the Whitwell Fest with Travis Tritt, he has been my fave since he came out in 89,…not been so excited by a singer/songwriter/musician since,…til Ms. Emi Sunshine came along! Marty, Travis and now the Opry coming up on 8/5/2014. I predict, that in the near future, she will be the youngest ever inducted to the Opry, by a long shot! Keep on Keepin on Miss Emi, we loves ya!
