Jody Medford has had a low voice from the age of 16 when he first started singing. He started singing bass with local Southern Gospel groups and then at the age of 17, he was singing with a nationally known southern gospel kids group. They traveled all over the country singing on the weekends. When Jody graduated high school, he sang full time for several years with some of the biggest Gospel groups in the country and won many awards.
Jody Medford then moved to Branson, MO where he was in several shows and made numerous TV appearances. During this time he broadened his vocal abilities by singing country music in these shows. After many years in Branson, Jody moved to TN to sing at Dollywood and for a show on the strip in Pigeon Forge. Medford was nominated as one of the top three entertainers of the year out of 300 entertainers.
Jody Medford then moved back to his hometown of Asheville, NC and he and a friend started a country music band. They released a national single and toured for a couple of years singing at FanFair in Nashville and appearing on the good morning Nashville show with Charlie Chase.
The band broke up in 2010 and Jody decided to go solo. He teamed up on a song with his friends from the country-rock band Cash Creek and he decided to have a video shot for the song. Keech Rainwater, drummer for the country band Lonestar, produced the country music video and it has been very successful on YouTube. Jody didn’t feel the video was totally finished so he signed on award winning video producer, Traci Goudie, to add the final pieces to the puzzle.
