Having grown up together during the 60’s and 70’s and having a love for the music of their day, these brothers now share their passion for the history of rock music in their tribute to the Everly Brothers, taking Everly fans back in time to once again experience the music that they grew up with.

The enduring influence of their close, expressive harmonies is evident in the work of the British invasion bands like the Beatles and the Hollies, and of folk oriented acts such as Simon and Garfunkel. Their hits such as Bye Bye Love, Wake Up Little Susie, All I Have To Do Is Dream, and their best-selling single, Cathy’s Clown, merged Nashville’s clean instrumental Country style with innocuous teenage themes, and were smoother than other contemporary country and rock music hybrids like Rockabilly.” – Rolling Stone Magazine

Written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, Bye Bye Love was rejected by 30 artists, but reached the top 5 on all of the charts in 1957, becoming the Everly Brothers’ first million seller. Again in 1957, the Everly Brothers topped the charts in the United States and the United Kingdom with this song, claiming the number 1 spot in the U.S. and number 2 in the UK.

In 1960, the Everly Brothers had their first hit on Warner Brothers Records with Cathy’s Clown, written by Don and Phil. Selling over 8 million copies, this was their biggest seller and was a number 1 hit for Warner Brothers in the UK. While traveling with Buddy Holly in 1958, this song became a number 1 hit on the Billboard Country Chart, number 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, and landed in the number 2 spot for three weeks on the R&B chart.

In 1958, Cathy’s Clown became the only song to ever become number 1 on all of the Billboard charts simultaneously, placed number 1 in the UK, and has since ranked 142 in Rolling Stone Magazine’s list of The Greatest 500 Songs Of All Time.

In their humble beginnings, in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, the Everly Brothers sang and learned to play guitar from their mother and father, Ike and Margaret Everly, who taught their sons to sing close harmonies and encouraged them to pursue their love of music.

After moving to Chicago, Illinois, and later to Shenandoah, Iowa, the Everly Brothers perfected their sound, while performing throughout the midwest.

In 1953, as radio shows declined and television took over in the homes of Americans, their family moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. While in Knoxville, the Everly Brothers caught the attention of family friend, Chet Atkins, who introduced them to Wesley Rose of Acuff/Rose Music Publishing.  And since then, the Everly Brother’s name has been synonymous with Rock and Roll history.
