In 2006, Dana founded Telsey Advisory Group (TAG), the leading consumer-focused research, banking, and consulting firm on Wall Street. TAG is also certified as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise by several states, cities, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council and numerous plan sponsors across the country. During her 35-year career, Dana Telsey has developed expertise that spans across U.S. and international consumer companies in sectors including: apparel, consumer electronics, cosmetics, department stores, footwear, grocers, home improvement and furnishings, internet, luxury, restaurants, and specialty retail. Under her leadership, TAG has evolved from solely an equity research platform to a full-service investment bank. To further diversify, in 2015, Dana founded Telsey Consumer Fund Management LP, an asset management firm that manages a consumer-focused long/short hedge fund. Prior to forming TAG, from 1994 to 2006, she was a Senior Managing Director at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. covering the retail sector. Prior to joining Bear Stearns, Dana was the Retail Analyst at C.J. Lawrence and Vice President of the Baron Asset Fund at Baron Capital, Inc. Dana has received a wide-range of awards and recognition for her work in the consumer and retail sector as well as for being a pioneer in the boutique broker-dealer space. In 2018, she was elected to the International Council of Shopping Center’s (ICSC) Board of Trustees. In 2016, Dana won the Thomson Reuters award for “Number 1 Stock Picker for Multiline Retail”. In 2015, Dana was selected, “from hundreds of nominees by the National Retail Federation (NRF) executive judging panel of top industry CEOs”, as one of the 24 winners of The List of People Shaping Retail’s Future. In 2014, she was honored with the designation of Woman-Owned Brokerage of the Year by Traders Magazine for successfully growing her firm by developing and delivering top-notch research and trading tools. Traders Magazine also awarded her as Entrepreneur of the Year in 2011. Dana is a thirteen-year member of Institutional Investor magazine’s “All-America Research Team” where she was ranked the Number One Specialty Stores analyst for seven consecutive years through 2005.
