Jamie Vaughn has been a practicing martial arts artist for more than 30 years. He has owned and operated two successful martial arts schools and a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) gym. Jamie has had the opportunity to train and coach some of the best fighters on the east coast. He is also a sought after striking coach, with other gyms and coaches bringing him in to train their fighters on different techniques for their upcoming fights.

Jamie is a member of the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame as Instructor of the Year; and also a member of the North American Sport Karate Association (NASKA) Hall of Fame as competition coach of the year. He holds black belt instructor rank in Kenpo karate, jujitsu, and has a strong background in several other martial arts disciplines.

Jamie is also a combat veteran of the U.S. military, having trained numerous soldiers in hand-to-hand combat in preparation for their deployments. Jamie has taught and trained defensive mindset techniques to military and law enforcement personnel, civilians, church security teams, teachers, faculty, and corporate employees.

Jamie Vaughn has also served as a youth pastor, associate pastor, church planter, and lead pastor during the past 15 years. His call to ministry has always been strong.

Because of his MMA background, he has been invited on many occasions to speak about his faith to many student ministry groups, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), men’s groups, etc. In previous classes he has taught, Vaughn has said no matter what class his students take, the core is always respect, confidence, and self awareness. He also trained youth in anti-bullying tactics and stranger awareness. “We tried to focus on building confidence and nonviolent means to counteract bullying such as avoiding confrontation to begin with,” Vaughn said. “We don’t just teach them how to fight.”

At this time in his life, after much prayer and counsel, Jamie has decided to retire from teaching and coaching, and pursue a full time speaking ministry.

His message is simple: To lead people who are far from God into a relationship with Jesus. He is capable of relating to many different people from different walks of life, but students are his passion. Although he is known for using MMA as a platform to present the gospel, he is sensitive to the fact that some might not be comfortable with that.

Jamie does not want his mission of seeing people saved to be hindered by anything. His messages are known for being high energy, funny, relevant, simple to follow, engaging, and powerful!
