As a remote sales person, travel is a key requirement of the job. As a result, Vallie Collins was a passenger on U.S. Airways Flight 1549 that landed in New York’s Hudson River on January 15, 2009. Vallie will share the details of her experience during the flight and rescue of the event that has become known as the ‘Miracle on the Hudson’.

Vallie Smith Collins resides in Maryville, TN with her husband and three young children. She has been a member of Maryville First Baptist Church for eleven years. She is the Board Chair for A Secret Safe Place for Newborns of Tennessee, member of Junior Service League, and a member of the 2011 Leadership Blount Class. In 1993, she graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. For the past eleven years she has been employed by a contract manufacturer of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and consumer products located in West Saint Paul, Minnesota as a Senior Account Manager selling contract manufacturing services in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and consumer products markets. Interests and hobbies include tennis, running, and spending time with family and friends.
