Robert O’Neill’s Military Career

One of the country’s most highly decorated Navy SEAL combat veterans, Robert J. O’Neill was involved in our nation’s most strategic military campaigns and led the military’s most elite. Deploying more than a dozen times, O’Neill held combat leadership roles in over 400 combat missions across four different theaters of war. After almost 17 years of service, Mr. O’Neill was honorably discharged in August 2012 as Team Leader with the Naval Special Warfare Development Group.

During his remarkable career, Robert J. O’Neill has been decorated more than 52 times with honors. Some of Mr. O’Neill’s most notable military decorations include: two Silver Stars (1), four Bronze Stars with Valor (2), a Joint Service Commendation Medal with Valor (3), three Presidential Unit citations and two Navy/Marine Corps Commendations with Valor (4).

It is the fourth-highest combat award of the U.S. Armed Forces and the ninth highest military award overall.
