Chris Spielman grew up in Massillon, Ohio where he played for Massillon Washington High School and was an all-star linebacker. Appearing on a Wheaties box, Chris Spielman was one of the youngest and perhaps the only high school athlete to receive such an honor.
Chris Spielman is a former Ohio State Buckeye, a two-time All American, and a 2009 inductee to the College Football Hall of Fame. He went on to play eleven seasons in the NFL, including eight seasons with the Detroit Lions, earning a Pro-Bowl selection four times and NFC Championship Game. Chris spent two seasons with the Buffalo Bills, and one season with the Cleveland Browns.
Currently Chris Speilman is a College Football Analyst for ESPN and known for his hard hitting and accurate comments on the game and players. His book, That’s Why I’m Here was just released this Spring of 2012. His high school sweetheart and wife, Stefanie, lost her 12 year battle with breast cancer in November of 2009. Together, they formed The Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research in 1999 and have raised more than $10 Million for cancer research.
