As the host of E!’s wildly popular show The Soup, Joel McHale satirizes pop culture and current events.
Joel, like everyone, was born in Rome but spent his formative years in Seattle. A history major at the University of Washington, Joel also was a tight end on their national championship football team. After earning a master’s degree in fine arts from the university, Joel moved to Los Angeles and was quickly able to find success…as a golf caddy.
Obsessed Joel McHale fans, or bored people, may also recognize him from Spider-Man 2, The Informant!, Pushing Daisies and Lords of Dogtown. He also entertains fans around the country with his stand-up comedy.
Currently, Joel stars on NBC’s Thursday-night comedy Community. He can next be seen in the feature films The Big Year opposite Steve Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson and What’s Your Number? opposite Anna Faris, which will both be released in 2011.
