Comedian and actor Ralph Harris is one of the fastest rising comedians today. Ralph is perhaps most recognizable from his starring role in the sitcom “On Our Own,” which aired this past season on ABC-TV.
Ralph was discovered by members of the ABC Casting and Development Department, when they attended a comedians’ showcase at Hollywood’s famous club, The Laugh Factory — the rest, they say, is network history.
One of the highlights of Ralph’s early stand-up comedy career was the night he performed his standup comedy routine opening for Janet Jackson’s sold-out Rhythm Nation concert tour in his hometown of Philadelphia.
“On Our Own” enabled Ralph to highlight his talents, performing character comedy, to a broad audience, following in the footsteps of two of his idols, Bill Cosby and Jonathan Winters. In addition to acting, Ralph’s passion for performing stand-up comedy remains close to his heart. In fact, he continues to perform in sold-out clubs across the country when not making television appearances. It wasn’t until Ralph saw Eddie Murphy perform live that he was inspired to pursue stand-up comedy.
Ralph Harris was featured on an episode of the critically-acclaimed television series, Seinfeld. He credits the show forgiving him the confidence to pursue his acting career. Prior to that, Ralph’s other acting credits included performing on “Living Single” and “In Living Color”. Ralph has also appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jay Leno, The Arsenio Hall Show, Showtime at the Apollo, and An Evening at the Improv. Ralph has been featured on Entertainment Tonight, Extra and CNN. Ralph Harris currently lives in Los Angeles and spends what free time he has creating new characters and touring comedy clubs around the country.
