Dana Thomas Carvey is definitely one happy comedian. At the ripe age of 51, he can safely say he has experienced the best that the world of standup comedy and entertainment can ever offer to any man.

The lucky guy was born on the second day of June 1955 in Missoula, Montana. Dana Carvey started as a Church boy with a penchant for music to one heck of a talented comic entertainer on both the small and the big screen. The comic went to college at the San Francisco State University; and there he was awarded the top prize at the San Francisco Standup Comedy Competition his first official confirmation of a prestigious career ahead. After his college graduation with a bachelor’s degree in communication arts, he played stand up comedy at numerous comedy clubs and then moved to L. A., California to pursue his dream.

He joined Saturday Night Live (SNL) in 1986, where he performed for seven consecutive seasons. His most well-known roles in the long-running show include Hans, of the Hans and Franz body-building team; the infamous Church Lady; Garth, Mike Myers’ “Excellent Co-host” on the wonderfully-received segment “Wayne’s World,” and the Grumpy Old Man in the Weekend Update sketch. To prove Carvey’s tremendous success, he joined his fellow SNL cast member Mike Myers in the filming of the official movie of their popular sketch: “Wayne’s World” in the year of 1992. This was produced by Lorne Michaels, the creator of the hit SNL show. The spinoff movie attracted a great number of people and consequently grossed over $160 million. This successful flick was soon followed by a sequel two years later, appropriately titled “Wayne’s World 2”.

But aside from the love and fame he received from being part of the Saturday Night Live cast, Dana Carvey has been appreciated mostly for his impressive impersonations of important political figures; the most famous of which includes the Ex-President George Bush, Jerry Brown, and Bob Dole and H. Ross Perot. Other public figures (luckily or unluckily for them) included in his many skits were Johnny Carson, George Burns, John McLaughlin, Casey Casem, Regis Philbin, and Mickey Rooney. Aside from Saturday Night Live and his stand up comedy performances, there are also many other movie citations in his name such as having roles in Alan Parker’s “The Road to Wellville” for Columbia Pictures, and Twentieth Century Fox’s “Trapped in Paradise”. These examples make Carvey’s experience in the business of comic entertainment more diverse and broader from other comedians.

Dana Carvey’s most notable achievement is his 1993 Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program. He was also nominated for a total of six Emmys. Furthermore, he was honored as Television’s Funniest Supporting Male in 1990 and 1991 with the American Comedy Award showing his great style and achievement starting from the early nineties.

Experiencing a night with one of the best and most recognized standup comedians and comics in the world is truly a funny affair to treasure; and booking one night with Dana Carvey will surely be worth it!
